Julianne Aiello

Yoga Teacher, Founder of Outdoor Yoga SF + Lyra Yoga

i believe that practicing outside, in nature helps us reconnect to the grounded, peaceful and powerful state that exists within us all.

As a young kid, I remember losing myself in the mountains, finding freedom from the worries of everyday life by focusing on the incredible potential of my body. Through my life and work as an athlete, a teacher, a like all of us - a professional and juggler of work life-balance, I've always come back to nature as my source to restore and recharge.

My goal in teaching is to help students discover the power in practicing yoga to achieve strength, mental clarity and confidence in their practice. I am motivated by my deep appreciation for the power of the mind, the capacity of the human body and the opportunity to tap into the wisdom we all hold within us.

You can also find me at Julianne.Yoga where I share free meditations, yoga classes, information about my upcoming retreats and more good stuff for you.

Thanks for visiting us here. We'd love to I'm curious about you too! Feel free to reach out and let me know how I can help you.

Yoga is my meditation, and I truly believe it is life changing. I am a bay area native and I've been practicing yoga for 5 years! I started while I was living in San Diego, and I quickly realized the many benefits of yoga, which influenced me to live a more positive and healthy lifestyle. I received my 200 hour teacher training from Dana Damara at the Pad Studios in San Francisco.

You can expect my classes to be fun, challenging and grounding. I usually teach power vinyasa classes, but also enjoy slowing things down once in a while for a yin restorative flow.

When I'm not on the mat or teaching yoga, you can find me traveling to new places, adventuring around the Bay area, taking a sweaty workout class in the city or spending time finding great food - in my kitchen or checking out a new restaurant.

Sarah Schmid

Sarah Schmid

Sarah Schmid first found Yoga in 2007 at a small studio in her hometown of Burlington, Vermont. When she left the green mountains for the US Coast Guard Academy, she relied on yoga club as a reprieve from the intense structure of military school. The opportunity to breathe, slow down, and become grounded through a regular Ashtanga practice brought her an unwavering sense of peace.

She graduated USCGA in 2012 and was stationed in San Diego, California where she joined the welcoming community of CorePower Yoga Pacific Beach. The idea of serving others as a teacher and sharing her passion enticed her to complete her Power Yoga Teacher Training in 2013. Immediately following TT she started a sunset yoga class on the flight deck of Coast Guard Cutter BOUTWELL while on deployment.

In 2014 the service brought Sarah to vibrant San Francisco, and she has been teaching at CorePower Yoga Fremont Street since the studio first opened its doors. Sarah has completed Power Yoga Extensions training, Hot Power Fusion teacher training, Yoga Sculpt teacher training, and coached multiple teacher training programs at CPY Fremont. She also teaches Power Flow and Yin Flow with Essential Oils at Karma Yoga SF on Union Street, and pop-up classes with Outdoor Yoga SF at Crissy Field, Fort Mason, and Baker Beach. Sarah's classes coalesce a balance of rhythmic pranayama, moving meditation, creative sequencing, anatomical awareness, and mindful intention setting.

She is heavily interested in translating the ancient teachings of yoga to life off of the mat for her students. Sarah's continued work as a yoga teacher peaked her interest in obtaining a deeper understanding of human physiology, and she was recently selected for the Coast Guard's Physician Assistant Program. She hopes to catch you in class before departing SF for this next adventure as a student in August 2017.

I discovered yoga over 10 years ago while living in Charlotte, North Carolina. At that point I was an avid cyclist, runner and lover of all things fitness but was looking for something a little more strengthening and relaxing.

In 2005 I move to San Francisco, continuing to practice, but it was when I became pregnant with my first child in 2009 that my practice really took off.  I loved the way yoga felt on my changing body and I couldn’t wait to get into the studio for each class. I now have two beautiful children and a growing practice I am honored to share.

I received my RYT 200 with Dana Damara, and I have also studied under Michelle Wing with It’s Yoga Kids and with Erin Lila Wilson with RISE Yoga for Youth. I am certified to teach yoga to ages 0 – 200 and l love teaching students of all ages.

I believe that yoga is one of the most beautiful ways to open up, let go and release the inner you. In my classes I teach students to link breath and movement. I connect with students on a deeper level by helping them get out of their minds and into their bodies while not taking myself too seriously.

Classes are set to an upbeat and fun playlist, and are both challenging and invigorating.  I look forward to having you in class soon!

As a yogi, runner, sailor, snowboarder, kiteboarder, and overall lover of sweat, the easiest way for me to uncover small doses of daily happiness is through breath, movement, and connection. My goal is to share that with others.

I offer a strong, soulful, and balanced vinyasa flow, encouraging my students to explore the joy that lives at the midpoint between ease and effort. I completed my 200hr teacher training in 2015 at the Pad Studios and continue to find light and inspiration from my teachers Dana Damara, Becca Schneider and Leila Burrows.

Everybody is meant to move.

I've been an athlete all of my life, having a focus on both team and individual sports, and have always believed that moving the body cures most things - whether it be a broken heart (emotional), a stressful work week (mental), or tight muscles (physical). Until I found yoga, I had struggled to find a way to move my body that had touched on exercising the emotional, mental, and physical, all at the same time. While I still keep active in many other ways, I find the yoga practice to be the connective tissue that keeps me strong in all forms. I've been practicing for over 8 years, received my 200 Hour RYT Certification from Dana Damara at The Pad Studios in 2015, and am absolutely thrilled to teach the benefits of the yoga practice to as many people as I can.

My Philosophy: I believe that we can all successfully move through the ups and downs of life when we bring a combination of strength, compassion, inspiration, poise, and a lot of fun to our day to day. Yoga is a way for us to hone these qualities, let our authentic selves shine through, and live our best lives. When we tune into the breath to find alignment and connection between mind, body, and spirit, we are able to clearly see our best selves and the best selves of those around us.

I teach an alignment-based, vinyasa flow class that has a strong focus on syncing breath with movement. As we have fun playing on our mats throughout our practice, we will leverage both dynamic and fluid movements, while nurturing alignment and form.  Look forward to seeing you in class!
